Should I Get a BBL?

I know you’ve thought about it—I’ve thought about it. And you’ve probably seen them everywhere, from the subtle, "skinny" BBLs to the larger-than-life buttocks that almost blind you.

So, dear fit foodie, let’s talk about it.

Hard Truth - Genetics Play a Major Role

As a fitness coach specializing in strength training for women, when clients come to me, their objectives typically sound like, "flat tummy, bigger booty, fit and strong, blah blah blah."

So you can say I’m in the business of building yansh and the truth is that the work we do at the gym can accentuate your curves and build muscle, specifically in your “glutes” aka bum” "yansh," "booty," "ass,""—whatever word you use.

But there is a BUTT (pun intended)

—your genetics largely determine the size and shape of your butt.

The good news: Yes, you can grow your glutes.

The bad news: It will never look like the work of a surgeon and how much you can grow will still be determined by your genes BUT stick with me, okay? Let me show you what is possible and how you can get those BBLish results.

Embrace Your Genetics

Meet my clients S & A doing one of my workouts, specifically for the booty. Over time, through consistency and hard work, they were able to build their glutes significantly, with cycles of bulking and cutting. You can see a sample workout on the board and here are some of my favourite exercises for glute-specific growth.

You can still work on growing your glutes with the right exercises. Consistency is key. Here’s how:

- Hip Thrusts: Amazing for isolating the glutes.

- Sumo Squats: Perfect for overall glute development. Add weights as you progress.

- Romanian Deadlifts: Great for targeting the glutes and hamstrings.

- Lunges: Effective for building strength and size in your glutes.

Tips

- Train your glutes 2-3 times a week.

- Focus on progressive overload: gradually increase weights or tempo. 

- Ensure proper form to avoid injury and maximize results.

- Eat enough protein to support muscle growth.


Still considering a BBL?

Now, some of you may be like… I don't care about all that! Should I GET A BBL?

While I’m not anti-surgery or physical enhancement—ultimately, it’s your body, your choice—I think there's a lot to be said for doing internal work and embracing yourself before considering going under the knife.

Why do you want a BBL? If you can answer that honestly and it’s not stemming from a negative place, then scroll down so you’re fully aware of the risks involved and can make your choice.

But if you are struggling with self-love, let’s talk about it. Listen, baby girl, you are ONE out of billions of people on earth. I don't care what you look like, It’s giving rare, it’s giving unique, it’s giving art, babyyyy

Do you see that? You have to embrace the journey and appreciate your body for what it is, fuel it right, nourish it and move it so it works well. 

- Focus on your strengths and what you love about your body.

- Daily affirmations: Speak kindly to yourself.

- Wear clothes that make you feel good.

Hot Girl Tip 

You can also focus on enhancing your natural shape with non-invasive methods. Some people wear hip pads the way we A-cup girlies love a push-up bra. On days when you feel a bit low, there are temporary solutions that might boost your confidence, and the shaping and tailoring of your clothes can enhance your features.


The Reality of Surgery

A BBL can help you achieve the look you want, but it’s not a decision to take lightly.

- Research and choose a qualified surgeon.

- Understand the procedure and recovery time.

- Consider other types of body enhancement that might be less invasive, like the liquid BBL (that has its risks too) 

Be aware of potential complications. BBLs come with significant health risks, including infection, blood clots, and even death. 

Infact BBLs have a higher risk compared to other cosmetic procedures. Recovery can be long and uncomfortable.

Weigh these risks carefully.

At the end of the day, you still can't maintain your BBL results if you don't build and achieve a healthy lifestyle. It’s part of the package, tbh. 

Most doctors will tell you to eat healthy and work out. 

So, should you get a BBL? I can’t answer that for you, but I hope this helps you think through your options.
